A ranking policeman who jumped to the assistance of a colleague who was ambushed by a knifeman received the Monarch's Honor for Bravery.
Sgt Tim Ansell grappled with 27-year-old Jacob Brown after he placed a knife to the throat of his colleague Sergeant Marc Foster.
Brown began the violence as the policemen and their partner, PC Marcus Wolstencroft, were conversing to a driver subsequent to a traffic accident in that location in mid-2023.
Brown stabbed and slashed both Sergeant Ansell and Sgt Foster prior to PC Wolstencroft stunned him with a electric weapon.

Officer-mounted and dashboard camera footage released by the force revealed Brown, who was dressed in black with a head covered, approach to Sergeant Foster from behind with a knife extended.

The latest recognition arrives after the law enforcement team won organizational Courage Honors in October 2023 and the prestigious bravery honor from the area Police Federation in April 2024.
