E-commerce platforms including these four major platforms are presently under investigation in France for the allegation of allowing underage individuals to view adult content on their platforms, the prosecutor's office in Paris declared on this Tuesday.

The country's consumer watchdog had reported the companies to the prosecution service on this past Sunday after expressing alarms about the marketing of youth-resembling sex dolls on Shein's platform during the weekend.

The Paris prosecutor's office clarified that the websites are being examined over harmful, explicit or unacceptable messages that can be viewed by minors.

AliExpress commented that it considers the matter very seriously. These companies have also been contacted for comment.

Two of the retailers are additionally being examined over the dissemination of material involving minors that are of a adult type, the office said.

The investigation of the retailer occurs while the firm, which was established in the People's Republic of China, gets ready for the inauguration on Wednesday of its maiden long-term real-world outlet in France.
